Biography of Dr.Chee-Leong CHONG
Dr Chee-Leong
Chong is the Managing Director of Aviation Virtual Pte Ltd, an innovative
startup that focuses on developing immersive 3D Virtual Reality technology for
the aviation industry. He is presently a Professor at the College of Arts and
Sciences, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (USA), an Adjunct Professor at
SIM University (Singapore), and an Adjunct Professor at Malaysia University of
Science & Technology (Malaysia). In addition, Dr Chong also serves as a
Director on the Global Institute of Social Works as well as Connexions
International Singapore.
Dr
Chong was previously Professor and founding Dean of the School of Science and
Technology, SIM University, an Associate Professor of Management at the NUS
Business School, Director of the NUS-SPRING Centre for Best Practices and the
Deputy Director of the Office of Quality Management at the National University
of Singapore.
Dr
Chong received his PhD (Management) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology
in 1995, MSc (Civil Engineering) and BEng (Civil Engineering) First Class Hons
from the National University of Singapore in 1988 and 1984 respectively.
He has
published widely, and participated in numerous industry and consulting
projects. He had worked as a technical consultant for Best Practices and
Benchmarking with the Asia Productivity Organization (APO) and one of his
projects was with FTPI to set up a Centre for Best Practices. He is very
experienced in academic matters in both the public and private educational
institutions and had worked on developing and managing international education
collaborations. He is currently involved
as an advisor in the srategic transformation of Tarumanagara University
(Indonesia).
